Vancouver Library, Main Branch

Point Source provided consulting and management for environmental cleanup of property slated for construction of a new main branch of Fort Vancouver Regional Library District in downtown Vancouver, Washington.

This work included the removal of multiple underground storage tanks from various locations within the city block, as well as management of the removal of asbestos from various buildings before they were demolished. Point Source also managed removal and disposal of petroleum-contaminated soils found on an area of the property formerly home to an auto repair facility. The contamination required entering the site into the Washington Department of Ecology Voluntary Cleanup Program. Following the clean-up, WA DOE closed the property as a Method “A” Unrestricted Land Use site.
